The UserMgrCom service crashes intermittently in Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010

Symptoms

On a server that is running Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010, the Microsoft Forefront UAG User Manager (UserMgrCom) service may crash intermittently. When this occurs, an error message that resembles the following is logged in the Application event section of the Windows Logs event log:

Cause

This problem occurs because of heap corruption in the service.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install Service Pack 4 for Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010.
