Outlook appointment reminder reappears after you dismiss it if it is synced to Windows Phone 8

Summary

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use Microsoft Office Outlook to connect to a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • You create a Calendar appointment that has a reminder set.
  • The appointment syncs to your Windows Phone 8.
  • When the reminder message window appears at the scheduled interval prior to the appointment, you dismiss the message.
In this scenario, the reminder message window appears again at the scheduled time of the appointment even though you had previously dismissed the message.
