Introduction

This article describes an update that prevents zombie processes when process snapshotting or process cloning is used in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. Before you install this update, cloned processes remain frozen and eventually cause a resource leak on the computer. The leak may cause Windows Error Reporting (WER) to crash or freeze during the reporting process.
