Symptoms

After you perform a "Refresh your PC" task in Windows 8.1, the mouse, keyboard, speaker, or other devices that don't use generic Microsoft drivers may stop working. The devices resume after you restart the computer again.

Cause

This problem occurs because the SetupPlatform.exe process unexpectedly sets the SystemSetupInProgress flag in the registry.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, restart the computer.
