Support for Bing Input Method Editor (IME), officially named 必应 Bing 输入法, ended on July 08, 2019. You can continue to use Bing IME if you already have it installed, however, Microsoft is no longer offering Bing IME for download, nor will Microsoft provide technical support or updates for Bing IME.
Any websites offering free downloads of Bing IME are not offering a sanctioned Microsoft product. Be cautious of such downloads, as these products may contain viruses or hidden costs.
If you need to type Simplified Chinese, upgrade to Windows 10 to use Microsoft Chinese Pinyin IME, which is safer and easier to use. If you have installed a Chinese version of Windows 10, Microsoft Chinese Pinyin IME will be automatically installed and ready to use. You can select the input method by clicking the language abbreviation on the far right of the taskbar.
If you don't see Chinese Pinyin IME as an option when selecting an input method from the taskbar, add Chinese Pinyin IME from the Settings app:
- Select the Start button, then select Settings > Time & Language > Language.
- If Simplified Chinese is listed as an option under Preferred languages, skip to Step 5. If Simplified Chinese is not listed as an option under Preferred languages, select Add a language.
- Choose the Simplified Chinese language you want to use from the list, and then select Next.
- Review any language features you want to set up or install, and select Install.
- On the Language settings page, under Preferred languages, select Simplified Chinese, and then select Options.
- Select Add a keyboard and then add Microsoft Pinyin.
