View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You access an FTP site on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows RT, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • There is a folder (Folder1) on the FTP server. The folder can also be the root folder. The folder contains a file (File12) and a subfolder (Folder11).
  • Folder11 contains a file. The file has the same name as File12.
  • You perform a cut-and-paste operation to move Folder11 to the client computer.
In this scenario, File12 in Folder1 is removed unexpectedly.

Note This issue also occurs when a folder in Folder11 has the same name as a folder in Folder1.
