INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you run a slide show in PowerPoint 2013, you cannot use the Object Model (OM) to change the black screen or white screen slide show view state to a running slide show view state. For example, this issue occurs when you use the following method while the black screen or white screen view state is active:
    ActivePresentation.SlideShowWindow.View.State = ppSlideShowRunning
  • Assume that you copy content from an information rights management (IRM) protected PowerPoint presentation to the clipboard. Then, you close the presentation. When you paste the content into another presentation, pictures in the presentation are displayed as a red X. Additionally, PowerPoint 2013 may crash.
  • Before you install this hotfix, when you run the 32-bit version of PowerPoint 2013 on a 64-bit version of Windows, PowerPoint can use only up to 2GB of memory, regardless of how much memory that you have installed in your computer. After you install this hotfix, PowerPoint 2013 is marked Large Address Aware. Now, when you run the 32-bit version of PowerPoint 2013 on a 64-bit version of Windows, PowerPoint can use up to 4GB of memory. This lets you work on larger presentations that contain more pictures and media.
