Symptoms

You run an SQL query against an IBM DB2 V10 Relational Database Management System that's configured for compatibility mode. When you use the Managed Provider for DB2 feature that's included with Microsoft Host Integration Server 2013, you may receive the following error message:

ATTEMPT TO USE NEW FUNCTION BEFORE NEW FUNCTION MODE SQLSTATE : 56038 SQLCODE : -4700.

Cause

This problem occurs because Managed Provider for DB2 does not check against different modes. Instead, the provider incorrectly performs a New Function Mode-capable query every time.
