In Windows 8, the status of a Store App changes from "running" to "suspended" when you switch from the app. For example, the status changes when you switch to another Store App or to the Windows Desktop. The status of the Store App reverts to "running" as soon as you switch back to the suspended app. When the status reverts to "running," all resources that are used by the Store App are restored. This includes the bitmap image or icon for the Store App.
However, a problem occurs if the Store App uses the WriteableBitmap class to display the bitmap image or icon for the Store App. In this case, the bitmap image or icon for the Store App is not restored.
