XADM: Rank Value Overwritten When Doing a Deep Traversal in Exchange 2000

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When a deep traversal search is performed on a folder, the rank value of all of the items that are returned is 1,000.

Cause

During a deep traversal, a search folder is populated with all of the items that match the search criteria. The rank value that is associated is returned by content indexing. At this point, Distributed Authoring Version (DAV) requests an unrestricted view of the search folder, which causes the rank values to be overwritten.
