FIX: The conversion program crashes when you convert a large and complex XML document in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you convert a large and complex XML document from one format to a different format in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the conversion process may cause the conversion program to crash. For example, you have Microsoft Word 2010 installed on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. When you run a Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) program in Microsoft Word 2010 to convert the Office Open XML representation of a document from one format to another, Word 2010 may crash.
