The e-mail processing order is changed when you upgrade to Outlook 2002 or to Outlook 2007

Symptoms

Your e-mail processing order may not be retained when you upgrade from an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook to Microsoft Outlook 2002 or to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.

Workaround

To work around this problem, follow these steps, as appropriate for the version of Outlook that you are running.

Outlook 2002

  1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Mail icon.
  3. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click E-mail Accounts.
  4. Verify that the View or change existing e-mail accounts option is selected, and then click Next.
  5. Select the appropriate accounts, and then use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to alter the position of the accounts in the processing order as needed.
  6. Click Finish.

Outlook 2007

  1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Mail icon.
  3. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click E-mail Accounts.
  4. Select the appropriate accounts, and then use the blue arrow buttons to alter the position of the accounts in the processing order as needed.
  5. Click Close.
