This article describes update 2878322 for Microsoft Visio 2013 that was released on June 10, 2014.

This update provides the latest fixes for Visio 2013. It includes stability and performance improvements. Please be aware that this update does not apply to Office 365 editions such as Office 365 Home.

Issues that the update resolves

  • Assume that you use the Visio 2013 drawing control in an application. When you try to save the drawing in the .vsd file format, you receive the following error message:
    File not found.
  • When you open a data linked file in which the first row is not linked in Visio 2013, Visio 2013 crashes.
  • When you try to open a .vsd file that was created in an earlier version of Visio in Visio 2013, you receive the following error:
    Visio internal error: #2424
    Action 1002: Open
    First try closing and reopening the file. Next try restarting Visio.

Update information

This update applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It does not apply to Office 2013 Click-to-Run edition such as Microsoft Office 365 Home.

How to determine if my Office installation is Click-to-Run or MSI-based
  1. Start Visio 2013.
  2. On the File menu, click Account.
  3. For Office 2013 Click-to-Run installation, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installation, the Update Options item is not displayed.

How to uninstall this update
Windows 8
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. If you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.
  2. Type windows update, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click View installed updates in the search results.
  3. In the List of updates, locate and then tap or click update 2878322, and then tap or click Uninstall.
Windows 7
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Click View installed updates.
  4. In the List of updates, locate and then click update 2878322, and then click Uninstall.
