Update improves Adobe Flash Player video playback in Windows 8.1 Preview

Symptoms

On a device that is running Windows 8.1 Preview, a Flash video sometimes quickly lightens and darkens during playback. This causes a flickering effect.

Note This issue occurs when Adobe Flash Player version 11.8.800.94 is installed.

Cause

Windows 8.1 Preview supports additional color space management features. Because of an incompatibility between Windows 8.1 Preview and Adobe Flash Player, the color correction setting for videos is sometimes incorrectly set during playback.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install update 2871676 from Windows Update.
