Failover Cluster Management snap-in crashes when you view the list of resource dependencies in Windows Server 2012

Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Server 2012-based failover cluster. When you view a list of resource dependencies that contains at least 23 dependencies in the Failover Cluster Management snap-in, the Failover Cluster Management snap-in crashes. Additionally, the following events are logged in Event Viewer: 
  • The following event is logged in the "FailoverClustering-Manager\Admin" log:
  • The following event is logged in the "FailoverClustering-Manager\Diagnostic" log:
Note After this issue occurs, if you open the Failover Cluster Management snap-in and then try to view the list of resource dependencies again, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Microsoft .NET Framework
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Value of '308' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'.

Cause

This issue occurs because an interaction issue occurs when you view the list of resource dependencies in the Failover Cluster Management snap-in.

Resolution

This hotfix is also available at Microsoft Update Catalog.
