Slow Connection of Outlook Client to Exchange Server When You Use RAS Connection

Symptoms

You may experience a slow connection from your Microsoft Outlook client to a Microsoft Exchange Server computer when you connect through a Remote Access Service (RAS) connection.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, on the client computer, configure a HOSTS file that contains the IP address of the Exchange Server computer.
