Remove Netswitch with Cisco Extensions

Symptoms

Using Virtual Machine Manager fails to remove the logical switch with third party extensions.

Cause

The protocol edge of the MUX driver was not installed.

Resolution

Create the NetSwitchTeam


Right click on the Ethernet adapter and go to Properties, Install, Protocol, Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Protocol

1.       Open the adapter properties. Note the MUX driver is there already.
2.       Click Install -> Protocol -> Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Protocol
3.       Note that the Mux Driver is still unchecked. Click OK to close property window.
4.       Open PowerShell window and try creating a NetSwitchTeam. This appears to compete successfully with no errors logged.
5.       Check Network Connections and note that the a new adapter exists.
6.       Check properties of the NetSwitchTeam member adapter and note that the MUX Protocol driver is now checked.
