Internet Explorer 11 Preview freezes or crashes while loading a webpage that contains widgets

Symptoms

When you visit a webpage that contains widgets on a Windows 8.1 preview-based devices, Internet Explorer 11 Preview freezes or crashes when it is loading the webpage. For example, it freezes or crashes when you visit a webpage that contains a weather report widget.

Cause

The issue occurs because incorrect values are assigned to properties of a RegExp object when Internet Explorer 11 Preview performs regular expression pattern matches. These incorrect values result in incorrect functional behavior of the webpage, and cause Internet Explorer 11 Preview to freeze or crash.

Update information

To resolve the issue, install update 2866512 from Windows Update.
