INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

When you open a Digital Rights Management (DRM)-protected workbook that contains a picture in Protected View, Excel may stop responding.
Worksheets can have duplicated code names unexpectedly when ActiveX controls are inserted into a macro-free workbook.
Consider the following scenario:
- You have a workbook that contains three or more tables in different sheets.
- One of the sheets contains two or more tables, and one of the tables contains a calculated column formula or a total formula that has a structure reference to the other table in the same sheet.
- You hide the totals row, or you overwrite one or more formulas by manually entering any value into the cells.
- You create a copy of the sheet to a new workbook by using the Move or Copy feature (you select (new book) from the To book: list in the Move or Copy dialog box, you select the Create a copy check box, and then you click OK).
In this scenario, when you try to save the new workbook or when you click the cells that you have overwritten, and then you click Restore to Calculated Column Formula, Excel may crash.

Registry information

Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.

After you install the hotfix package, follow these steps to resolve the issue in which worksheets can have duplicated code names when ActiveX controls are inserted into a macro-free workbook.

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options\
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type CreateVbeProjOnLoad, and then press Enter.
In the Details pane, right-click CreateVbeProjOnLoad, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.
