Update adds support for new camera models in Windows 8 and Windows RT

Introduction

This update for Windows 8 and for Windows RT adds the following 17 new camera models to the list of already supported cameras:
  • Canon: EOS 100D, EOS 700D, EOS Kiss X7, EOS Kiss X7i, EOS Rebel SL1, EOS Rebel T5i
  • Epson: R-D1s
  • Nikon: 1 J3, 1 S1, D7100

The Microsoft Camera Codec Pack already provides support for the file formats of the following devices:

Windows RT and Windows 8 file information notes
  • The files that apply to a specific product, milestone (RTM,SPn), and service branch (LDR, GDR) can be identified by examining the file version numbers as shown in the following table:

  • GDR service branches contain only those fixes that are widely released to address widespread, critical issues. LDR service branches contain hotfixes in addition to widely released fixes.
  • The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information for Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012" section. MUM and MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are extremely important to maintain the state of the updated components. The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
