Symptoms

You may receive the following error message when you try to customize an e-mail address on a recipient policy:
The e-mail address you entered was modified during validation. Please verify the modified email address.

Cause

This problem occurs when you use wildcard characters such as %g or %s and you enter the characters in uppercase letters. The incorrect letters are removed after the message appears.

Resolution

To correct the problem, re-enter the characters in lowercase letters.
