FP2002: FrontPage Stops Responding When You Move File from Site to Source in "Publish Web" Dialog Box

Symptoms

When you click and drag a file twice from the destination location to the source location in the Publish Web dialog box, FrontPage may stop responding.

Cause

This behavior occurs when File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is used to publish in FrontPage with Internet Explorer 5.0. To check the version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
1.Start Internet Explorer.
2.On the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer.
3.In the About Internet Explorer dialog box, note the version number.
This behavior occurs with version 5.00.2614.3500 and earlier versions.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install Internet Explorer 5.01 or a later version.

More information

The FrontPage Setup program upgrades Internet Explorer to 5.01 to avoid this problem; however, you can prevent this upgrade by adding the command line NOIE=TRUE to the Setup program.
