FIX: The status of a blocked test case is not updated in the report after you reset it in Microsoft Test Manager 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a test case in Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) 2010.
  • You block the test case.
  • You reset the status of the test case to active.
  • You use Microsoft Excel and connect to a data warehouse or an Analysis Services cube to create a report that shows the test results.

In this scenario, the test case is incorrectly shown as "Blocked" in the report.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010 Service Pack 1 installed.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you install the hotfix if the affected files are not being used. We recommend that you close all Visual Studio related components before you install the hotfix.
