This update enables support for Windows cluster resources connectivity on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012-based Microsoft Azure virtual machines. This support enables the SQL Server Availability Group Listeners.
This update makes the following changes:
Note Microsoft Azure routing infrastructure differs from standard enterprise networks. ARP requests are usually not forwarded unless nodes are in separate or different physical networks. When the subnet masks of certain networks are set to 255.255.255.255, the networks are considered invalid. Therefore, the cluster network ignores them.
This update makes the following changes:
- Enables users to set the subnet to 255.255.255.255 for the IPv4 resource of a cluster.
- Fixes an issue in which the Resource Hosting Subsystem (RHS) process is not cleaned up when an IP resource failure occurs.
