INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you format a paragraph by using a custom style that derives properties from another custom style in Word 2010. When you paste some plain text into the paragraph, the style is not retained.
  • When you use VBA to change the protection type or the protection password of a document in Word 2010, the protect settings are not changed.
  • Assume that you create a document that is based on a template in Word 2010. The template contains a linked object, such as a linked Excel chart. When select No in the Do you want to update this document with the data from the linked files dialog box, the linked object is updated unexpectedly.
  • When you use the Application.ActivePrinter VBA code with a printer name without considering the case-sensitivity of the name in Word 2010, you receive the following error message:
    Run-time error '5216':"There is a printer error."
  • You cannot open an embedded Word document that contains a floating embedded OLE object. For example, when you try to open the embedded Word document from an Excel workbook, you receive the following error message:
    Microsoft Excel can't start the application required to open this object. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?
