Summary

If you're using Windows Live Mail to access Outlook.com and experience one of the following:
  • Error: Server: https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003
  • Unable to Sign in or access mail. (Outlook.com, MSN, Outlook.com and Live Mail)
Note The problem is sometimes accompanied by a message saying: Email address is removed for privacy or Server Error: 3204.

Fix it myself
WARNING Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your Windows operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
 
  1. Run Regedit:
    • In Windows 7, click Start and type regedit in the Search programs and files text box.
    • In Windows 8, move you mouse to the upper right corner, click Search and type regedit in the search text box.
  2. Click OK in the User Account Control window.
  3. Once Regedit starts, navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Communications Clients\Shared\Policies key and remove the entry where:

    The Name field = ssl.live.com_MBL_SSL and Data field = MBI_SSL.
  4. Exit out of Regedit.
