Subnet mask changes to an incorrect value and the server goes offline in DirectAccess in Windows Server 2012

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you enable Network Load Balancing (NLB) in DirectAccess on a Windows Server 2012-based server. You add a second node to a load balancing cluster. In this situation, the subnet mask of the server is changed to an incorrect value, and the server goes offline.

Note This issue occurs only on the second node that is added to the NLB cluster.

Cause

This issue occurs because the prefix length is completed incorrectly when a subnet mask is created in certain functions.
