Consider the following scenarios:
Scenario 1
This problem occurs because the "Store and Partition" reuse feature is not available in the File System Disk Manager (FSDMGR) functions.
Scenario 2
You insert a storage device on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device and then immediately remove the storage device before it is mounted.
In this scenario, the storage device may not be recognized when you attach it again.
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the FSDMGR PNP thread.
Scenario 1
- You configure the PNPUnloadDelay setting in the following registry subkey on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager
- You insert a storage device on the Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device.
- You take one of the following actions:
- You remove the same storage device and insert it quickly again within the time that is configured for the PNPUnloadDelay setting.
- You suspend and resume the system within the time of the configured PNPUnloadDelay setting.
