Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You configure a Hotmail account in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 by using the Outlook Hotmail Connector.
  • You send an email message to another user in Outlook.
  • You sign in to your account on Outlook.com or Hotmail.com, and then you open the Sent folder.
In this scenario, the sender’s email address (your email address) is displayed in the To field for the email message in the Sent folder. However, the recipient’s email address (the email address of the user that you sent the email message to) should be displayed.

Note In some cases, the sender's name is displayed instead of the sender's email address.

More information

This issue only affects Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. This is because Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 use Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector to connect to Outlook.com and Hotmail.com accounts. There are no plans to update the Outlook Hotmail Connector. However, Outlook 2013 supports Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) accounts and therefore does not experience this issue.
