FIX: "The account specified is not a member of the HIS Runtime group" error when you try to use the configuration utility in Host Integration Server 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You configure the Host Integration Service account to be a member of a local domain group. Then, you try to use the configuration utility in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 after you log on by using a user account from a child domain.

In this scenario, you may receive the following error message:

The account specified is not a member of the HIS Runtime group.

Cause

This problem occurs because members of a local domain group cannot be validated against the Host Integration Server Runtime group.

Resolution

Cumulative update information
