INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Word 2013. This update provides the latest fixes for the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Word 2013. Additionally, this update contains stability and performance improvements.

Issues that this update fixes

  • Assume that you run Word 2013 or Microsoft Outlook 2013 in a device that has Microsoft Windows 8.1 installed. When you pan across the page in Read mode or in Web view, the zoom overlay is displayed intermittently.
  • When you use a UIA-based screen reader (such as Microsoft Narrator) to read a message in Outlook 2013 or a document in Word 2013, the shapes and images are not read by the UIA-based screen reader.
  • In Outlook 2013, the inline attachment is read as “image” instead of as “attachment” by UIA-based screen reader such as Narrator.
  • The UIA-based screen reader does not announce the presence of a hyperlink on an image. You expect that the reader says “link” to alert you that a link is available to you.
