Symptoms

When you have a computer that is running Windows Server 2008, the computer crashes with one, or both, of the following Stop errors:
Stop 0x00000024 (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
Stop 0x00000050 (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)

Notes
  • These Stop error details refer to an NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM issue.
  • The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer and on the issue type.
  • Not all "Stop 0x00000024" or "Stop 0x00000050" errors are caused by this issue.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
