Introduction

This article describes hotfix 2822218 that is available for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.

Issue that this hotfix resolves

This hotfix corrects the assertion failure that occurs when MSBuild 4.5 tries to load a .NET Framework assembly that depends on another .NET Framework assembly at build time. For this issue, you receive the following error message:

Assert failure(PID pid, Thread: thread): Precondition failure: FAILED: !GetAssembly()->IsDomainNeutral() || pModule->GetAssembly()->IsDomainNeutral() || GetAppDomain()->IsDefaultDomain()

Note You may experience this issue if a designer is open in Microsoft Visual Studio when you try to build an application.
