This compatibility update may trigger several actions when you upgrade to the latest version of Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012. The following are the most common actions that may occur:
  • Upgrade block

    Puts an upgrade block on an application that may cause the upgrade to fail. Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 may put an upgrade block on a third-party application only if the manufacturer is notified. User has to uninstall to continue with the upgrade.
