FIX: E_OUTOFMEMORY error when you try to play an AVI file on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you try to play a type-2 Audio Video Interleaved (AVI) file in an application on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. If the AVI file is very large, the RenderFile API in the application may return an E_OUTOFMEMORY error.

Note A type-2 AVI file stores the interleaved data in separate audio and video streams. However, a type-1 AVI file stores the interleaved data as one stream in the AVI file.

Cause

The issue occurs because of incorrect logic in memory allocation.
