FP2002: Photo Gallery Layout Is Missing

Symptoms

When you view the layout formats that are available for a new photo gallery, you do not see all of the four default layouts. For example, the Slide Show layout may be missing. Running Detect and Repair may not resolve the problem.

Cause

The Slideshow.xsl file may be missing or damaged.

Resolution

To replace the missing or damaged sldshow.xsl file, extract it from the FrontPage CD-ROM. To do this, follow these steps.

NOTE: The same steps apply for each Photo Gallery layout. Instead of Slideshow.xsl, use the name of the *.xsl file that you need to replace.
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, and then point to Accessories.
  2. Point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
  3. On the Tools menu, click System File Checker.
  4. In the Select an option and click Start option group, click Extract one file from installation disk.
  5. In the Specify the system file you would like to restore box, type the following:
    sldshow.xsl
  6. Click Start.
  7. In the Restore from box, type the following
    CDRomDriveLetter:
    where CDRomDriveLetter is the drive where the FrontPage CD-ROM is located.
  8. In the Save file in edit text box, type the following
    DriveLetter:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\Webs\album.wiz\slideshow\
    where DriveLetter is the drive where FrontPage is installed.
  9. If you are prompted to create a backup directory for the file that is being replaced, click OK to accept the default path for the backup directory. If you are prompted to create the directory, click Yes.
  10. After the file is extracted, a dialog box with the following message is displayed:
    The file has been successfully extracted.
    Click OK, and then click Close.
