Summary

If virtual machines files or folders are modified by the user and the access permissions are changed from the default permissions set by Hyper-V, these changes will be removed after performing a Live Migration or Storage Migration of the virtual machine in question.

After a virtual machine has been moved, either with Live Migration or Storage Migration, the access permissions on the virtual machines files and folders will be set to the default values used by Hyper-V.

Hyper-V configured the file access permissions for virtual machine files to be appropriately secure for production deployments. It is not supported or recommended to change these access permissions for any scenario.
