Why can't Windows 8 find the Startup Folder?

View products that this article applies to.

Scenario description

Windows 8 is really nice to use! I was dazzled by how many new features there are. However, I have noticed that the Startup Folder can't be found. Before, I was able to control which programs are to be automatically started, since programs will automatically start if I put them inside this folder. Why can't I find it in Windows 8?

Easy to get started 123

First, please swipe up from the bottom of the screen when using Modern UI (If you're using a mouse, please right-click the mouse), then click "All apps".

Then click "Run".

Next, please enter shell:startup, and click "OK" after you are done.

The long lost "Startup" folder appears. Now, you may put all the shortcuts of the programs you want automatically started into the folder.
