An item search of a very large database in Retail POS of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 takes longer than expected to finish

Symptoms

You run an item search in Retail POS in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. When the database is very large, such as 400,000 items, the item search is slower than expected. For example, you might expect the item search to take 4 to 5 seconds to finish. However, in this scenario, the item search may take close to a minute to finish.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply this hotfix.
