Unable to open Internet TV in Windows Media Center

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

On a computer running Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 with Media Center Pack, you launch Windows Media Center. From the menu, you select "Internet TV."

In this scenario, the following error message is displayed: "INVALID APPLICATION - Unable to launch"

Cause

As of September 20, 2012, the Internet TV experience is no longer available.

To access the videos that were previously available in Internet TV, use your web browser to visit the following sites:

For MSN Video, please go to http://www.bing.com/videos/
For Zune podcasts, please go to http://social.zune.net/podcasts/
