ACC2000: BigInt Data Type Incorrectly Mapped to Binary When Linked to SQL Server 2000 Table

Symptoms

In Access 2000, when you query a linked SQL Server 2000 table that contains a field defined with a data type of BigInt, returned data is incorrectly mapped to Binary instead of to TEXT, which can appear in the form of indecipherable symbols within the linked Microsoft Access table.
