FIX: Error message states that the product doesn't meet inventory filtering criteria in Commerce Server 2009 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • In Commerce Server 2009 R2, you set the Display out of stock items option to False for an inventory resource in Commerce Server Manager.
  • You restart Internet Information Services (IIS) and then verify that the out-of-stock items are not shown on the Commerce site.
  • You use Commerce Server Catalog Manager to manage one of the out-of-stock items.

In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following when you try to save the product:

The product item_name does not meet the inventory filtering criteria.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply the following hotfix.

Hotfix information

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have Commerce Server 2009 R2 installed.

Restart information

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, you must restart Internet Information Services (IIS) and the Commerce Server Catalog Import Host COM+ application after you apply this hotfix.

To restart IIS, open a Command Prompt window, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
iisreset /restart
Note This command stops all IIS services that are running and then restarts them.

Replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.

File information
