If the flexkey definition for tasks is greater than 24 characters, or if the task ID is the length of the flexkey definition, you cannot publish a project in MSP/PWA

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • In Flexible Key Maintenance (PA.FKM.00) you set the length for task segments so that in total, the task is longer than 24 characters.
  • You try to publish a project in MSP/PWA.

When you do this, you receive the following error:

See your messages in the DynamicsSL Project Communicator for all 0 errors encountered.


The application eventlog contains this error:


An error in Validate Task has occurred. Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length Source: mscorlib

Resolution

Hotfix information for Microsoft Dynamics SL
