FIX: Oversettlement error message when you try to settle posted transactions in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009

This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 for all regions.

Symptoms

You have posted vendor transactions in an Invoice journal and Payment journal for Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. When you try to settle the posted transactions, you receive the following error message:

Update for voucher number_VPA has been canceled to avoid oversettlement. The settled customer or vendor balance for the transaction must not exceed the transaction amount.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply this hotfix.

Validation of the application hotfix installation

To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method name that contains the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by viewing the KBxxxxxx.txt file against the objects in the AOT. Therefore, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.

Note KBxxxxxx.txt is a placeholder for the KB article number of the installed hotfix.

This hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
