When you right-click some items in Microsoft Outlook, the Mark as read option does not appears for a read item in the context menu and the Mark as unread option does not appear for unread items.

If you open any folder in Outlook, set the view to a table view that groups items (for example, if you set your view to the By Conversation Topic view), and you right-click one item, the context menu that appears has either the Mark as read option or the Mark as unread option depending on the state of the object, but both options do not appear. If you right-click the group, both options appear.
This behavior is by design.
