Introduction

This article describes an update that provides additional support for a Server Message Block (SMB) server.

This update fixes an issue in which access to an SMB share on a Windows Embedded Compact 7 device might be terminated for an SMB client after the IPv4 address of the device changes The changes to the IP address, for example, can include some of the following changes:
  • IP lease expires
  • The DHCP server is unavailable for a brief time when the device is booting.

The Windows Embedded Compact 7 Monthly Update (June 2013) is now available from Microsoft. Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previous updates for this product are installed.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.

This update does not replace any other updates.
