View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When conference participants attempt to join an online conference, and the client is redirected to the local T.120 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) server by site referral, the following error message may be displayed in the data frame of the conferencing access Web page:
Server Error
Additionally, the Data Conferencing Service may log the following error message in the conferencing participant's "local" T.120 MCU server Application event log:
Source: MSExchangeDCS
Type: Error
Event ID: 8200
Description: An error occured while attempting to add the T.120 MCU server_name.fully_qualified_domain_name to the server topology. Error code: 80070057. Message: The parameter is incorrect.

Cause

This problem can occur if a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) with more than 32 characters is entered in the Use Network Name box for remote sites on the "hosting" MCU server; the participating client in the remote site cannot join the data conference and receives the error message in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

When the host server passes the "remote" MCU connectivity information back to the client, a maximum of 32 characters is allowed. If the FQDN exceeds this limit, the referral does not occur successfully.
