Introduction

This article introduces an update that changes client bind type information for the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) connection in Event ID 2889 in Windows Server 2008 R2. After you install the update, the Binding Type parameter indicates whether a client connection for an event was a simple bind or an unsigned bind. A value of 1 indicates a simple bind, and a value of 0 indicates an unsigned bind. For example, after you install the update, Event ID 2889 resembles the following:

Note Before you install the update, Event ID 2889 does not contain a Binding Type parameter.
