FIX: The value for the "maxOccurs" attribute is invalid when you validate the BizTalk X12 EDI 835 schema in a BizTalk EDI application in BizTalk Server 2010 or in in BizTalk Server 2013

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You develop a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013 EDI application in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
  • You add the HIPAA 5010 EDI 835 schema to the application.
  • You right click the schema and select Validate Schema.
Note The default path of the 835 schema is
<Microsoft BizTalk Server>\ XSD_Schema\MicrosoftEdiXSDTemplates\HIPAA\5010\835\X12_00501_835.xsd

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
The value for the 'maxOccurs' attribute is invalid - The value for the 'maxOccurs' attribute must be xsd:nonNegativeInteger or 'unbounded'.

Cause

This issue occurs because the value for the maxOccurs attribute "unbounded" is misspelled as "unboounded".

Resolution

Cumulative update information

For BizTalk Server 2013
