View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You log on to a Windows 8-based computer by using a local or domain account.
  • You configure a Microsoft account on the computer. Then, you connect the account to your local or domain user account.
  • You try to create a task that runs by using the connected Microsoft account in Task Scheduler. Or, you try to change an existing task to run by using the Microsoft account.

Note To do this, you click Change User or Group under When running the task, use the following user account in the task settings.
In this scenario, you cannot create or change the task. Additionally, you cannot schedule tasks by using the Microsoft account even if you sign in to the computer by using the Microsoft account.
